The Department of Haute-Savoie

Some of the major geographic features are the mountains of Aravis, the foreland savoyard, the historic Mount Blanc and the Chabblais Massif. Lake Geneva is one of the most scelic locations of the department.

Department Haute-Savoie is a department of France in the Rhone Alps region.

History :

It has an interesting history. Since the eleventh century till about 1860, it was an independent state established and controlled by the House of Savoy.  This is one of the last largest areas to move to proper France after the treaty of Turin. The house of savoy was a very able family that through generations maintained relations with the house of burgundy, papacy and even to the German kings and French rulers. 

Geography :

Some of the major geographic features are the mountains of Aravis, the foreland savoyard, the historic Mount Blanc and the Chabblais Massif.
Lake Geneva is one of the most scelic locations of the department.

Its cities include Annecy, Mont Blanc, Annemasse, Thonon les Bains, Sallanches and Geneva French, and countries include country Albanians, country Faverges. 


The flora and fauna are abundant in this department depending upon the altitudes, from hilly rain forests to the alpine slows.

The weather too is dependent on the altitude though most of the tourist places can be visited in autumn.

Tourism :

The important tourist locations are the lake and town in Annecy,  the ski resorts of Avoriaz, Chamonix and Flaine, Lake Geneva, the mount Blanc that is a must ride for professional and passionate hikers.
